The storyline is arguable the darkest in the series however it's the most well written.
If you have never played a Zelda game previously, I would not recommend Twilight Princess as your first. Twilight Princess has that special something that makes it an instant classic. I've played every Zelda game that's been released in the US. Twilight Princess is my absolute favorite, with Majora's Mask being second. I'll be referring to the series as Zelda and the namesake as Princess Zelda. If you know The Legend of Zelda at all you probably know it's usually referred to as simply Zelda. If you like heroes and villians, fantasy and medieval world's, and an immersive stroyline with a variety of characters then Zelda is right for you.
